So, you can read about this just about anywhere. You can see it on TV or just about anywhere. And, you hear about it just about everywhere!
Here’s my take, NO MATTER WHAT LIFE GIVES YOU, GIVE BACK MORE!
I think this became even more important to me after I started on this journey that pretty much changed the direction of my life in a split second it seemed.
People I believe struggle with how to give back or think it is just about giving donations or important sums of money.
Yes, that is a way. And many wealthy individuals do just that. Yeah, they get a tax break, but that money or donation also helps many if it is applied and used right.
There are some that give away their salaries or pay themselves $1 a day or year while performing their duties. My first thought is, “Boy I wish I could do that.” But I am willing to ask the question. How many truly would? I think it does take a special person to do that, no matter how wealthy you are. Just my opinion.
I’ve always tried to give back. Helping others on their career paths while working. Community service, coaching sports, making donations and helping at school functions among a few.
It was a very fun thing for me to do and I believe it helped to keep me grounded with my family and friends and not get too caught up in the work bubble we are all guilty of at some time in our lives.
Some say, “I’m tired of giving and getting nothing in return.” Now, that is interesting.
First, should you do something to get something back in return? Or is the satisfaction of helping others enough?
While working, I think people that go the extra mile, put in the extra time, continue to show the loyalty should get rewarded. A new promotion, a new salary, something. But it still shouldn’t be done with an end reward being the motivation. Just my opinion. There are so many jobs and there are so many promotions, but there is still the economic factor for any company. But I truly believe in the good soul of most people and perseverance and passion is a key to any success.
So, when I got sick and had to change everything I did … absolutely everything! I couldn’t put all the hours in I used to. So, I had to prioritize.
While volunteering, some of the patients I get into conversations with, feel a bit lost, helpless at times and not sure what is next for them.
How can we the disabled, oxygen needy patients on a very difficult journey continue to give back?
Depending on how you are physically depends on what you can do. Even if you can’t do some of the physical tasks of giving back you used to. Can you speak and educate others on how you are coping? This is an amazing way. People want to hear and learn from others who might be going through the same types of challenges.
Volunteering, I love. Using some of my work history and talents to help others is another way I enjoy helping. The satisfaction I get from that, the smiles I get from patients and friends is PRICELESS!
The world needs more of the caring for others today, I feel.
Smiling at your caregivers, is a tremendous way of giving back! Send a card, a text, a note, will warm anyone’s heart, 😊
Encouragement!!! WE NEED IT, but don’t forget to give it back as well!
So, #touchaheart, #smile, #laugheveryday
You all get thumbs up every day and I pray for all of you every day!
Till next time!
